In March I jumped on a plane and flew to NSW to photograph my very first wedding. In actual fact, it wasn't a wedding at all... rather a beautiful vow renewal and celebration of love and commitment. Belinda and Richard eloped a couple of years ago and wanted to celebrate their commitment to each other in front of dear family and friends, and their gorgeous little girl, Willow. (You can read about Belinda and Richards wedding story on Belinda's beautiful blog, Elsie and Joan).
I was incredibly flattered when Belinda contacted me asking if I would consider flying interstate to capture memories of their celebration. At the time I had no experience in this type of photography and no real examples of appropriate work to show them... they simply said they trusted me and connected with the style of photography that they had seen on my personal blog. I was a mixed bag of nerves and excitement when I arrived and saw the effort the couple had gone to to create a truly memorable day. I still couldn't quite believe they were entrusting me to document such a significant occasion.
It was an absolute honour to capture these memories for such a gorgeous, funny, down to earth couple. I could tell within minutes of meeting them that they were perfectly suited to one another. I really think this shines through in the images I captured of the day.
You can read more about this beautiful celebration at the gorgeous Hello May blog, where the event is being featured today. There you will find a full list of credits for the vendors who came together to create this incredible day.
I am currently taking bookings for 2014 and I would love to hear from you! I am based in North Queensland but am willing to travel far and wide - please email me at email@example.com and we can talk about your upcoming wedding.
